NFL wagering strategies; Is the Pack back?
by Ralph Colucci
Is the Pack back or was last years superbowl a fluke, I think they are, based on the game against the Patriots last year. With Rodgers out, Flynn gave the Patriots their best late season game and though it wasn’t as close as the final score indicated, I picked them to Win the NFC based on that game and when the Jets shocked the Patriots in the playoffs, I switched to the packers to win the Superbowl and they did just that,
On offense, Rodgers is a top five QB, their running game is sperb and their receivers can be spectacular. Clay Matthews anchors a solid defence. Don’t know how strong this years draft was after last years bonanza but they were quietr in the free agent market because, when healthy, they don’t have any big holes. How the Bears finished ahead of them in their division last year makes me scratch my head. This year they get the NFC South & AFC West along with the Rams & Giants, so it is hard to see them finishing worse than 12-4 which should at least get them a buy if not top seed.
I think we have seen Atlanta and Norleans go past their prime, Chicago played beyond their means last year, Minnesota is in complete disarray and Detroit is Detroit. Tampa Bay and Carolina are full of holes, Philip Rivers keeps getting older without winning anything however KC continues to improve as do the Raiders. Eli Manning has proven to be not much without Burress so the Pack are looking at a lot of winnable games by playing the smart, disciplined football that is their trademark. If New England falters again, the Pack can repeat.
