The past few days have been up and down on BetFair.com, as I have had many opportunities to flatten my positions and protect capital, however I do not yet have the discipline to arbitrage every trade.
My new strategy will involve shorting $8 (Lay the horse) and going long (Back the horse) for $7. This should allow a $1 profit if the horse loses, and a somewhat bigger profit if it wins. Now sometimes I will get stuck with only one side of the trade, so it will be important to get the first wager in early, before the spread tightens.
