The second period was much better for Leaf fans, with Matt Lombardi's shorthanded goal providing an early spark that carried on through the period. Phil Kessel is starting to get untracked and is looking dangerous.
Both Liles and Phaneuf are moving the puck well, and though Schenn's timing is still off, he's already a looming presence threatening fearsome hits.
This Lombardi signing could turn out to be a real blessing...
