After agalforgordo was leading most of the day with his early win of $519.70, veteran handicapper Brad Auger hit the board in the evening with winnings of $1,001.25, and that turned out to be the biggest bankroll after everyone invested their $150 stake.
Congratulations to Brad and all of the top 5 who finished in the money! As for me, I got skunked while shooting for the moon...sound familiar anyone?
Peace 2 All,
Joe Trainor

thanks buddy...a friend pointed this article out to me..much appreciated..Im off to the NHC tourney at the end of the month for the 500k 1st prize..that would be a sweet win...IM not really a harness bettor but that was how I won the HPI challenge..I coach a bantam hockey team and got home with only a few races to go and had to be sharp in a short period of time..anyways, thanks again..take care..Brad
Thanks Brad,
I was just reading about Brian Troop's win in the 2010 National Handicapping Championship. Hopefully you can keep the trophy in the Canuck realm.
Thanks for the insight into your impromptu strategy in the HPI tourney. I had considered waiting until the last 2 races to play, as then you would know what the leader had and what type of win would top it. I ended up frittering the stake away with small bets, however every day is a learning experience, win or lose, and it was my first tourney.
If you want to experience roots harness racing at its very finest, visit PEI in August for Old Home Week, and enjoy the Gold Cup and Saucer, where every horse in the main event gets the spotlight during the post parade, truly inspiring.
All the best at Red Rock!
